A state agency is looking into the offer and sale of investments in Homestead Northwest.
The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions is looking into the financial dealings of the company to see if any violated state or federal securities law. If improprieties are found, violators are referred for prosecution.
The agency said allegations were made known in a complaint filed. Investigations are usually complete within a matter of months.
Homestead Northwest notified investors and company employees of its financial difficulties more than a week ago. According to sources, meetings were being held this week with a small group of investors.
