fallible argument: “Jesus wouldn’t be worried–” stop right there. of course Jesus wouldn’t be worried. HE DOESN’T WORRY. need i say more?

“but at the beach all are there to tan”… wait, what? you polled every individual person at every beach to find the motives behind their visit to said beach? don’t kid yourself. you’ll find that the majority of people, especially the younger crowd, are there to (maybe) play in the water, but mostly to attract attention from the opposite (or same) sex. sure, some people tan while they’re doing so.

while on that topic, what’s the point of tanning? you lay in the sun, scantily clad, for the sole purpose of making yourself look good. if we’re living our lives for Christ, shouldn’t we be more concerned with our soul? after all, man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. isn’t that what your bible says? as a “true Christian”, surely you have read that.

i laugh at your reference to Jesus wanting to catch some good surf. are you kidding me? he controls the wind and waves. he can make whatever surf he wants. surely that’s also in your bible, “true Christian”.

you’re saying that we can dress however we want, and we won’t be to blame for any sexual sin that someone else commits after/while looking at us? forget you. if we’re going to apply that logic, then let’s completely legalize porn. after all, it’s not them, it’s us. we’re the ones who are completely messed up… right?

we are ALL somewhat responsible for keeping other people in check. if some girl comes up to me hardly wearing anything and starts talking about Jesus, is it wrong of me to question her? as “true Christians”, we’re called to be modest and to not be a stumbling block for our fellow brothers and sisters. your bible also says that, “true Christian”.
furthermore “point fingers at the jack that lacks”?? what are you going on about?? when did Jesus EVER say we should point fingers? if anything, he preaches just the opposite. the people that REJECTED Jesus were the ones that pointed fingers and accused and ridiculed. get your facts straight, kid.

so read your bible and re-think your answers, because i’m seriously calling your ’sincere Christianity’ into question.

but, maybe your church teaches that 18-year-old boys like myself have no credibility in such areas.

If we sat down with Jesus today and asked him if a Christian girl should wear a bikini to the beach, what do you think he would say?

I think we both know the answer.

Don’t get me wrong. Guys have a responsibility too. But please don’t try to propose that wearing next to nothing in public is somehow not part of the problem.

If lust is equal to adultery according to Jesus, then it seems that girls should want to run as far away from taking part in that equation as possible.

Talk about hoopla.

And hyperbole.

What happens is school districts keep adding this, and adding that, and before you know it, they have everyone’s special interests covered but the basics start to slip by the wayside. And, by basics, I’m talking about reading, writing and good ol’ arithmetic.

Eventually, you end up with a lot of college-age kids who can’t do basic algebra and possess the attention span of a spider monkey.

The system — not just in Lynden — is shot. Time to start fresh, and the best way to begin is by taking a good hard look at what’s going on in leadership.

i find it a bit appalling that you would call the book ‘rubbish’, just because it goes against your opinion of america. truth is, there are many countries who have been hurt by this country. it IS a bully. this country ain’t roses and unicorns. we’ve done some stupid things and hurt people. that’s a fact. so of course people have negative opinions of us. apparently, obama isn’t ashamed to admit that. good on him, i applaud that.

now, is this book demoralizing to the united states citizens? that’s a pretty lofty claim. if americans are going to get butt-hurt about a book written by a latin-american journalist, count me out, i’ll move to canada. i don’t care to share a country with a bunch of pussies. what about all the books written by communists, anarchists, neo-nazis, etc., that criticize and demoralize countless other countries and peoples? you’re mad because someone wrote a book in 1971 saying that america was, at one point, mean? well, i think that’s a bit selfish. i, personally, don’t care about my reputation. sure, let people write what they want. you can be angry about it, but that only reinforces their claims. instead, try loving them and painting a different picture.
